Drama & Music Theater: Summer Showbiz

Summer Programs at Ranney School proudly hosted scene selections from "You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown" in RSPA Panther Hall on Friday, July 15, 2011. Presented by Ranney’s three-week Drama & Music Theater Intensive class, the production left family and friends astounded at the talent standing before them.

Under guidance from professional musician, teacher and opera singer Nicole Hodge, students ranging grades four through 10 spent late June and early July learning several aspects of theater production including characterizations, vocal work and choreography. A great way to showcase their overall improvement throughout the duration of the course, the talented group of actors performed scenes from the play, "You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown," complete with five musical performances. “They have worked incredibly hard, have shown an incredible maturity and commitment to the stage, and have an innocent charm that made it easy to create, sing, laugh and enjoy each moment together,” said Ms. Hodge.

The class, consisting of Emily Chang, Andrew Colbert, Kate Donnelly, Rachel Jacoves, Leah Nawy, Kyle Sabin, Jenna Unger, Alexandra Weitzman and Samantha Wilk, also studied technology and theater business this summer, as well as explored various behind-the-scenes fundamentals of showbiz.
