Ranney School Celebrates Autumn with Homecoming and Fall Festival Weekend, September 23-24

Ranney Panther Pride will be on display across the community as the school hosts its annual Homecoming and Fall Festival Weekend, Friday, September 23, and Saturday, September 24.

Homecoming weekend will kick-off on Friday afternoon, as the entire campus comes together for the traditional Panther Athletics Fall Pep Rally, celebrating student-athletes of the fall sports season. A new addition to this year’s Pep Rally is the Headmaster’s Fun Run, which will include four races on the Guidone Track for student and faculty participants. Races will include a Kiddie Dash for the early childhood grades, the Headmaster’s Quarter for first through third grades, a Headmaster’s Mile for fourth and fifth grades and the Headmaster’s 5K for Middle and Upper School students. Each race offers participants the option of running or walking, with medals for all participants presented at the finish line.

Friday evening offers parents, alumni and friends to reconnect on campus during an annual Welcome Back Cocktail Party in RSPA Panther Hall - a “can’t miss” event! In addition to great food and great company, this year’s party will feature an art exhibition by some of Ranney School’s most talented artists - the faculty of the Fine Arts Department. Additionally, this evening offers the school community a chance to officially welcome two campus volunteer to their new leadership roles - Jamie Price, President of the Ranney Board of Trustees, and Mimi Keenan, President of the Parents’ Association - with an Installation of Leadership ceremony.

Saturday morning kicks off early with the Headmaster’s 5K Run/Walk, a long-standing tradition on Fall Festival day, with registration at 8:00 a.m., and the race going off at 8:45 a.m. The course starts on the Guidone Track and winds participants through the beautiful 60-acre Ranney School campus.

Ranney’s Lower School students will start the day with the RSPA’s Panther Cubs soccer program on various fields around campus. Come watch our future superstars in Kindergarten through fifth grade hone their skills on the soccer field during their weekly session.

The Ranney School Parents' Association has been busy all summer long preparing for Fall Festival, which will start at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. This annual tradition is by far one of the largest community events held on campus, cementing the sense of community felt by families, alumni and friends. Held rain or shine, Fall Festival offers activities for children of all ages - crafts, horse and carriage rides, a petting zoo, balloonist, inflatables, carnival games and activities, delicious food, a DJ with "Ranney Idol" karaoke, pumpkin decorating, and even a haunted house. Parents - bring your children's old clothing and help your family build your own scarecrow that day!

Wear your Ranney blue and white and cheer on the mighty Panthers as they take the field for some spirited competition with rivals Rutgers Prep and Saddle River Day as they vie for the coveted Headmaster’s Cup. Varsity and Middle School teams will be in action on Ranney's fields throughout the day, so bring your school spirit and root for the home team!

Wrapping up the afternoon of athletic competition will be an alumni softball game on the baseball diamond. Alumni of all ages and skill levels are invited to take part in a little friendly competition among classmates and fellow former students following the Fall Festival activities.
