Ranney Begins Transition to Shore Conference with Tournaments
The Ranney School athletic program is already well on its way to success in the highly anticipated Shore Conference as two of its varsity teams qualified to compete in Shore Conference Tournaments this season.
Ranney’s athletic program was granted general membership within the state’s renowned Shore Conference on April 29, 2011. This membership is not only a true testament of steadfast improvement in the program, but also of the dedication displayed in scholar-athletes and coaches. Although the school will not receive formal induction into the Conference until the fall of 2012, the varsity girls’ tennis and varsity field hockey teams were granted an opportunity to preview the vast competition that awaits them in the near future this fall.
In what proved an important milestone for Ranney School’s athletic program and its scholar-athletes, the varsity girls’ tennis team faced Shore Regional High School during its first-ever match of the Shore Conference on September 26, 2011. Ranney’s varsity field hockey team also got a taste of what the Shore Conference has to offer when it traveled to Howell High School for its first-ever round of a Shore Conference Tournament on Friday, October 14. As the 47th member to join the highly regarded Shore Conference, Ranney’s Athletic Department and its affiliates can be found working hard to prepare athletes for a transition that will surely bring the program to new and exciting levels next school year.
