Ranney to Host 18th Annual Panther Classic Tournament - January 6th and 7th, 2012

Please join Ranney’s varsity basketball teams at the school’s 18th Annual Panther Classic Basketball Tournament beginning January 6, 2012. A spirited tradition since 1994, this year’s Panther Classic will feature varsity opponents from United Christian Academy, Calvary Academy, Doane Academy and Ranney School, with boys’ and girls’ consolation and championship games set to take place on Saturday, January 7.

A two-time defending champion, the varsity girls’ basketball team — under the guidance of Head Coach Thomas Moriau — will face Calvary Academy at 6:30 pm on Friday evening, in hopes of earning its third consecutive Panther Classic Championship title.

Meanwhile, the varsity boys’ team is eager and ready to fight for the championship at this year’s event. Coached by Tyler Schmelz, the boys' first game of the Tournament will take place against United Christian Academy at 8:00 pm on Friday, January 6.

In support of both teams, the Athletic Department will also host a Winter Athletics Pep Rally in the Gerhard Pavilion for Athletics from 1:30 pm-3:00 pm prior to the Tournament on January 6. All are invited to attend!
