The Sykoffs Spread Holiday Cheer

All teachers, faculty, administrators and several students took a trip to the “Sykoffs' Inn,” where Ranney’s Head of School Dr. Lawrence Sykoff, and wife Joyce, greeted guests with the gift of cheer, scrumptious breakfast treats, and warm drinks on December 15, 2011.

A festive tradition offered in the Headmaster’s Suite each winter, this year’s activity also included a musical performance located in the front foyer of Ranney’s Upper and Middle School Academic Complex. Led by Strings Teacher Dr. Dorothy Sobieski, a group of nine very talented Lower School students — grades four and five — played such tunes as the Hebrew Folk song Chanukah, the holiday classic Jingle Bells, and a song entitled Believe from the movie “Polar Express.”

Before leaving the “Inn,” all visitors were thanked for their continuous hard work and congratulated on their many accomplishments seen throughout the year. As parting gifts, Dr. and Mrs. Sykoff presented each guest with a fleece Ranney blanket to be used for staying warm this winter season. May these blue and white blankets also serve to remind recipients that their second home, Ranney, awaits their return in 2012!
