Ross Bernstein ’10 remembers his fondest memories at Ranney School as being both pleasant and inspirational. His involvement in several activities and development into a well-rounded individual while at Ranney has led him to become an active member of the student body at Monmouth University as well.
Now a sophomore at Monmouth, Ross is President of a Foundation for Jewish Campus Life known as the Hillel Society. Meanwhile, as a Panther at Ranney Ross’ contributions ranged from Vice President of the Tri-M® Music Honor Society, through which he participated in the most Coffee House performances ever, to a member of the Science Research Club, which earned him third place at the Jersey Shore Science Fair.
One of the first students to ever complete both an art and a music track at Ranney, Ross was responsible for the creation of a small on-campus a capella ensemble known as “Shades of Blue.” Similarly, Ross co-founded Monmouth’s first Glee Club and formed his own a capella group called the Reztones, which currently holds 15 members.
It was Ranney that also encouraged Ross to explore his curiosity for the art of magic. Not only did Ross conduct his Capstone Project on magic, — researching the history of the magician’s craft, as well as its modern techniques and scientific background — but he also performed for campers attending summer programs at Ranney School. In continuing to follow his passion for magic, Ross started a Magic Live TV Show that appeared on the Monmouth University station, Hawk TV12.
Ross is currently a Secondary Music Education and Psychology student.
