Dr. Lawrence S. Sykoff Honored in NYC

On Monday, January 23, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) honored the notable career of Ranney Head of School Lawrence S. Sykoff, Ed. D., with the presentation of a 2012 Quarter Century Award. Dr. Sykoff joined nearly 1,200 colleagues during a CASE annual district conference awards luncheon at the New York Marriott Marquis.
 
Throughout his 35-year career, Dr. Sykoff has distinguished himself in the field of education through his contributions to leadership and commitment to service. Dr. Sykoff is a member of many affiliations, including CASE, the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). He has been honored for his community involvement and contributions to education, and is also active on numerous Boards. Dr. Sykoff is a Board of Trustees member at the Riverview Medical Center Foundation in Red Bank and American Cancer Society, and a member on the Eastern Division of the American Cancer Society’s Board of Directors.
 
Under Dr. Sykoff’s stewardship, Ranney School has experienced unprecedented modernization and expansion that resulted in the school's highest enrollment ever in 2011-12, fiscal soundness, and national recognition of students and programs. His vision to enhance and improve the school’s mission of academic excellence within a modern and nurturing environment has successfully positioned Ranney as one of few premiere college preparatory institutions in New Jersey.
