Ranney parents, students, staff and friends came out for the Parents’ Association’s Rock the Runway Fashion Show at Eagle Oaks Country Club on Friday evening, February 3. With a crowd of nearly 300 families and friends in attendance, Ranney Middle and Upper School students as well as faculty models took to the runway in today’s latest styles, all to benefit the Parents’ Association’s Divisional Speaker Program and faculty professional development programs.
“What a fantastic evening,” said RSPA President Mimi Keenan. “Student and faculty participation was at an all-time high and it was so wonderful to see both students and faculty cheering each other on. Watching the happy faces and smiles of our families made me proud of the committee volunteers who worked very hard to make the evening the memorable one it was.”
The evening included a chance raffle — featuring an array of gift baskets and prizes for both parent and child — including an iPad, spa and gift certificate packages, designer accessories, jewelry, toys and more. The silent auction featured Ranney Summer Program packages, a Versace handbag, a fur jacket and several highly sought-after parties with some of Ranney’s faculty members: a pool party with Director of Aquatics Emmett Walling; a bowling party with Lower School teachers Katie Hunt and Jessica Atwood; an Art Party with Lower School art teacher Barbara Levine; a crepe breakfast with French teacher Nancy Rosenthal; a bowling party with Middle School teacher Michael Ling and Middle School Dean of Students David Ketcham; and dinner at Porta with Associate Director of College Guidance Adam Materasso.
Following dinner, guests enjoyed a performance by senior
Tor Miller and band mate
Ian Bamberger ’09. Afterwards,
Ranney students, faculty and administrators took to the runway in fashions from Ranney mom Neveen Mullally, as well as local boutiques ranging from Fresh Boutique, Lynne’s and Free People to Stacy Gemma, Brave New World, The Bee, Nirvana and Michael Duru. Lower School students lined the runway, cheering and high-fiving the student models and teachers as they walked along.
An added feature to this year’s Fashion Show was the Rockin’ Angels’ community service initiative, asking students across all divisions to donate their gently used clothing in support of Family and Children’s Services in Long Branch. Clothing will be collected in designated bins around campus from now until February 16th. For more information on the Rockin’ Angels’ initiative, please click
