Fifteen eighth grade students from Ranney’s Middle School Forensics team participated in the program’s very first “Forensics Roadshow” on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Branching out beyond the campus community, team members showcased their talents at the Brandywine Assisted Living Residence in Wall Township, New Jersey.
Performances included scenes from plays, dramatic and comedic monologues, and the recitation of stories and folk tales. The senior citizens, in addition to one student – Michelle Krameisen’s '12 — grandfather, truly enjoyed watching the young people perform on what was also the 111th birthday of another resident at the center.
The following students participated in Ranney's newest community service event:
Michelle Krameisen
Ruchi Raval
Brandon Gioggia
J.D. Mullally
Peri Rohl
Rachel Staats
Ariella Silverstein
Jacob Wahba
Sallie Haas
Karl Brand
Elizabeth Paasche
Audra Smires
Kyra Citron
Sophia Jackman
Tessa Payer
Because of the success of this event, plans are in the works for future visits from other team members. Until then, the “Forensics Roadshow” has returned to campus, where it is busy preparing for its next event — a Middle School Forensics Festival — to be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in RSPA Panther Hall.
