Performing Arts Dept. Presents Annie, Jr.

The Lower School Performing Arts Department will close its spring theater season with the full-length musical production Annie, Jr.
Tomorrow — only a day away — the Lower School Performing Arts Department will close its spring theater season with the full-length musical production Annie, Jr.

Based on the popular Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie, Annie premiered at the Alvin Theatre, now the Neil Simon Theatre, on Broadway in 1977. With music composed by Martin Charnin and Charles Strouse, such hit songs as “Tomorrow” and “It’s the Hard-Knock Life” will have audience members singing along from their seats, as Ranney shares the story of a young orphan girls’ journey to find a family. This heartwarming musical is perfect for any age group, as Annie (Mikayla DeSaye ’19) wins over all, including billionaire Oliver Warbucks (Samantha Stamer ’19), with her smile and demeanor.
