The Performing Arts Department proudly presented its last show in a series of spring concerts — Broadway’s Golden Decades — in RSPA Panther Hall on May 29, 2012.

Narrated by students Sarah Bartosh ’12 and Molly O’Neill ’13, the evening, which combined both drama and the choral arts, not only consisted of background information on some of Broadway’s greatest legends like Rodgers, Hammerstein and Gershwin, but also contained scenes from everyone’s all-time favorite musicals Candide, Showboat, Girl Crazy, Anything Goes, Carousel and South Pacific.

Throughout the event, members of Ranney’s International Thespian Troupe and Tri-M® Music Honor Society sang and danced to such musical selections as “Ol’ Man River,” “Anything Goes” and “Someone to Watch Over Me.” During what signified, for some, the last opportunity to perform on Ranney’s Roberts’ Stage, members of the audience also heard from Christa Dalmazio ’12 who sang the operatic hit song “Glitter and Be Gay,” Evelyn Giovine ’12 who joined Benjamin Puvalowski ’13 while performing the classic ballad “If I Loved You,” Jood Ani ’12 who opened the show’s segment of South Pacific with “Bali Ha’i” and Hannah Simpson ’12 who led her fellow thespians in the catchy tune “I’m Gonna Wash that Man Right Outta My Hair.”

All in all, each member within the Performing Arts Department would like to congratulate every performer on a wonderful spring concert season as well as thank the stage crew, which included seniors Eric Chiang and Anike Oladeji, for its hard work in making each show such a success.
