Ranney Junior Featured on “The Voice”

Congratulations to Ranney School junior Jacquie Lee whose vocal talents were featured on NBC’s “The Voice” in the second round of the blind auditions on Tuesday September 24th. In her introduction, Jacquie revealed she was from Colts Neck, New Jersey and is highly involved in athletics. At Ranney, she has participated in soccer, tennis and field hockey and has blown audiences away with her powerful voice at coffeehouses and concerts. The introduction also revealed Jacquie’s passion for giving back through singing for local charities, children’s hospitals and cancer patients.

After Jacquie sang her heart out to a rendition of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black”, judges Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton turned around, vying for her to be on their teams. After Christina praised Jacquie’s performance and advised her to “follow her heart”, Jacquie selected the pop singer as her coach, commenting that they are both soulful singers.

“Our Ranney family has been so supportive of Jacquie and we are thankful to have all the kind words and encouragement from the families, faculty, staff and administration,” said Jacquie’s mother, Denise Lee.  “The school has kept her grounded through this process and we are grateful. It makes this journey that much more meaningful and special to know there are so many people close to her heart and home cheering her on!
