Upper Schoolers to Appear in All-Shore Chorus Concert

This coming Saturday, February 2, 2014, three Ranney Upper Schoolers will perform among some of the most talented high school vocalists across the state. Noah Goldstein ’14 (Spring Lake Heights) George Timmins ’15 (Old Bridge) and Evan Schultz ’17 (Colts Neck) will appear in the 52nd Annual All-Shore Chorus Concert, to be held at the Neptune Performing Arts Center, 7:30 p.m. These three Upper Schoolers are part of a 146-person chorus featuring highly qualified singers from Monmouth and Ocean County high schools.

“The students were selected through a rigorous audition process and will perform in a full concert featuring choral masterworks from the classical, folk, contemporary and Broadway genres,” says Ranney Performing Arts Director Tess Nielsen, who sponsored the students at their audition and serves as Treasurer of the All-Shore Chorus Advisory Board.

This will be Noah Goldstein’s fourth year in All-Shore Chorus as a Bass II, and the second year for Tenor 1 George Timmins. Freshman Evan Schultz is a newcomer to the All-Shore Soprano Section. “To prepare for the concert, the students are required to attend intense rehearsals and learn complex harmonization as well as challenging repertoire in foreign languages,” adds Mrs. Nielsen.

All-Shore Chorus, Inc. has a long history of service to Monmouth and Ocean County schools. The coalition was formed by choral directors who wanted to challenge their best students to sing masterworks of choral repertoire and expose the students to complex music that they might not experience in their regular music classrooms. The group always brings in a guest conductor to lead and teach the students, which make the experience much more valuable. All of the students wear formal choir robes when performing; Ranney’s Upper Classmen will be singing in their Ranney royal blue and white choir robes.

We hope you will come to the performance and support our stellar vocalists!
