RSPA to Host Rock the Runway Fashion Show

The Ranney School Parents’ Association (RSPA) will once again host its annual Rock the Runway Fashion Show on Friday, February 28. The event will take place at Eagle Oaks Country Club in Farmingdale at 6:30 p.m. Organized by chairwomen Laura Pflaster and Tina Pflaster for the fourth year in a row, the event allows attendees to shop, dine and take their chances on a variety of auction items before student and faculty models take to the runway to show off popular fashions and trends. Several boutiques and stores contributed items, including Billabong, Tula, Lucki Clover, Nirvana, Stacy Gemma, Michael Duru and Fresh and Lynne’s.

This year's featured staff models include Upper School Head Paul Zanowski, Director of Library Media Services Lauren Garry, and faculty members Christine Cicero, Ina Gurman, Meghan McGeehan, Maggie Reiter, Jane Guadagno, Jeanette Cordero, Katie Hunt and Jessica Pierz. In addition, five seniors will be joined by their fathers on stage as part of a tradition that started with last year’s lifers.

In connection with the show, RSPA will also be holding its Rockin’ Angels Clothing Drive for the third consecutive year. Last year, following Hurricane Sandy, the Family and Children’s Services (FCS) Thrift Shop, which helps to raise funds for important programs, was devastated and able to re-open thanks to the efforts of the Rockin’ Angels program.

Collections bins will be placed around campus during the first two weeks in March, immediately following the Fashion Show. They will be collecting new and gently used clothing (adult and larger junior sizes), shoes, outerwear and accessories. Donation bins will be located in the Dining Hall and in the GPA lobby for Upper School and Middle School. Collection bins for the Lower School will be available in the Margaret Mahon building.
