Varsity Track Girls Headed to Meet of Champions

Update: Congratulations to Brooke on her appearance at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions on Wednesday, June 4. Competing in a field of the state’s top dashers, Brooke finished 28th overall. With another season left before graduation, Brooke’s prospects are bright for a return trip.

Brooke Fromkin ’15 (Monmouth Beach) finished third, turning in repeat 12.98 times in the 100-yard dash, at the Group Championships on May 30, and is now headed to the NJSIAA Meet of Champions (MOC) on June 4, 2014 (see back story on the Panther Athletics blog).

Brooke joins Ranney alums Molly Wilgucki ’09, Stephen D’Onofrio ’10 and Anike Oladeji ’12 as a Panther MOC qualifier—the only students to qualify for this meet since Ranney joined NJSIAA in 2008. Also, Kate Crilly ’16 (Freehold Twp.) made her second appearance in as many years at the Group Championships, finishing the 400 hurdles in a personal record of 1:13.31 for 12th place. Brittany Hofferber ’17 (Bayhead) was Ranney’s first distance competitor to qualify for the Group Championships; she ran the 1600 and 800, earning an 11th and 13th place, respectively.
