Paulus Library Doubles Inventory through eBooks
In the video at right, Library Media Services Director Lauren Garry talks about Ranney’s growing digital collections and capabilities to help students reach their full potential in preparing for college-level research. In the past several months, she has led the growth of the Paulus Library’s collections, including its digital resources, to meet the school’s 1:1 Laptop/Device program needs. In fact, the Paulus Library collection has more than doubled, growing from a 9,000 volume inventory to a 22,000 volume inventory. This growth has been made possible by adding 13,000 eBooks through EBSCO.
The addition of these books offers students easy access to the most relevant reading and research tools. For example:
- The new collection can be updated each year to meet the needs of Ranney School’s use of titles and books
- EBSCO’s eBooks can be used by multiple users at one time
- EBSCO’s eBooks can also be viewed on any device, including smartphones and tablets, and will soon be accessible from home.
In addition to these new resources, Stacey Slowinski, Ranney’s library assistant, is managing a summer reading inventory connected to an EBSCO fiction collection for easy student and parent access. Ranney encourages families to peruse the collection before summer’s end! Visit online at

“We have made a big step forward in both acquisitions and digital programming here at Ranney School this summer,” says Assistant Head of School for Academics Patricia Marshall. “We are happy to have increased the overall depth and relevancy of our collection for our students.”
