Jacquie Lee ’15 to Perform at Union Beach Benefit Concert

Ranney School lifer Jacquie Lee (Colts Neck) is performing at a Special Benefit Concert on Saturday, August 23 at Brookdale Community College’s Robert J. Collins Arena in Lincroft, NJ. All of the concert’s proceeds will go to assist the residents of Union Beach who are still struggling to overcome the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Jacquie was runner-up in Season 5 of NBC’s “The Voice,” which aired during fall 2013. Matt Schuler, also one of the contestants on “The Voice” Season 5, and the RockNRoll Chorus, an a capella group featuring high schoolers from across New Jersey, will also be performing at the concert.

Since “The Voice” finale, where she was mentored by pop icon Christina Aguilera, Jacquie Lee has been touring the United States with her fellow contestants, performing at various venues across the United States, including singing the National Anthem at a Giants football game and participating in California’s Tournament of the Roses parade. She also recorded and released a debut single called “Broken Ones.” The song has had more than three million streams on Spotify and reached the Top 20 on iTunes’ Pop Chart. Most recently, she signed with Atlantic Records in partnership with 300 Entertainment to continue pursuing her singing/songwriting and recording career.

Jacquie Lee’s August concert is hosted by Operation Provide Comfort, a grassroots nonprofit group based in Colts Neck that formed to help Union Beach after Hurricane Sandy. Union Beach, like many towns along the shorelines of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, endured devastating damage from Hurricane Sandy in the fall of 2012. Approximately 200 homes had to be demolished and another 1,000 sustained severe water damage. The rebuilding process is still ongoing.
