Ranney Riders Head to Nationals & Esteemed Clinics

Update: Ashleigh Conroy-Zugel '16 (Holmdel) has been invited to participate in the Emerging Dressage Athlete Program's (EDAP) Fourth Annual Robert Dover Horsemastership Clinic to be held in Florida this coming January. Riders are selected from major competitions and previously held EDAP clinics and include the top junior (under age 18) riders and young riders (under age 21). The clinic is led by Olympian Robert Dover; judges and teachers include fellow Olympians Charlotte Bredahl, Debbie MacDonald and Adrienne Lyle and additional international riders.

Ranney’s Equestrian Club members are making remarkable headway in their sport. Claudia Payor '15 (Atlantic Highlands) and Adele McKenna '15 (Rumson) have qualified to compete in the national ASPCA MacLay Finals, a national jumping championship taking place Oct. 28-Nov. 2 in Lexington, KY. Both girls, who have been riding for about 10 years, will be representing the Northeast region, among other riders. Ashleigh Conroy-Zugel '16 (Holmdel) and Sophia Calve '16 (Oceanport) have qualified to compete internationally at the junior level in dressage. Both girls are competing at Dressage at Devon in Devon, Pennsylvania this week, September 23-28.

In addition, Carlie Taurosa '18 (Allenwood) received a Reserve Champion award at the Marshall and Sterling Medal Finals in the Children's Hunter and Equitation Division during the weekend of September 20, 2014. She has been riding since age 5 and began to compete at age 10.
