"Go Panthers, Go" Song Heard Throughout Campus

Erik Bovino '15 wrote the lyrics and recorded the music to a new fight song for Ranney School. The song debuted at last week’s Homecoming Weekend events. Here, he comments on writing the song:

“Creating the fight song was definitely new territory for me in songwriting. The Student Council requested a new Ranney fight song to be played at the school’s first Homecoming Game (October 17, 2014), and I immediately started brainstorming ideas based on the classic college fight song sound. I used GarageBand software to compose my music by playing each instrument on my piano keyboard, which is recorded onto my computer. So, rather than recording the usual piano, bass, drums, etc., I had to play and layer each marching band instrument into the song!

“I have been blown away by the energetic and enthusiastic reception of the song by the student body! Go Panthers, Go! has taken the school by storm, something that I never expected would happen. I am overjoyed that the song is bringing the school together…. Never, in all my years at Ranney [Erik has been attending Ranney since third grade], have I seen this level of spirit, unity and enthusiasm for the school. Ranney is truly, top to bottom, the best school that a kid can go to. The grass is greenest at 235 Hope Road, and, it thrills me to know that I will be leaving a piece of myself behind and giving back to place that has done so much for me.”

“Go Panthers, Go!”
Go Panthers, Go, show your pride,
Stand united side by side.
Let them know why the honor of
“Best” is bestowed on
Two-Thirty-Five Hope Road!
Ranney will be number one,
In the hearts of everyone!
We’re Blue (clap clap)
And White (clap clap)
We’ll put up a fight!
C’mon Panthers show your pride!
