Go Panthers! Varsity Basketball Teams Take Panther Classic Titles

Both the Ranney Girls' and Boys' teams won the 2015 Panther Classic Tournament.
 
Both of Ranney School’s Varsity Basketball teams—the girls’ team and the boys’ team—won the Panther Classic Tournament title on January 10, 2015.

“It was two wonderful days of competition displaying exactly what Ranney Athletics is all about: effort, team work and fair play,” said Athletics Director Bobby Malone. “Both teams represented the school very well and their win reinforces all of the teams' hard work thus far.”

During the semifinals on Friday, January 9, the Varsity Girls’ Basketball Team beat Calvary Christian of Old Bridge 31-14 and the Varsity Boys’ Basketball Team beat Calvary 52-16. Other competing schools included Doane Academy of Burlington and Koinonia Academy of Plainfield. In the Saturday finals, January 10, finals, the Ranney Girls’ won against Doane Academy 38-27 and the Ranney Boys’ team won against Calvary Christian 52-28.

Congratulations also to the teams’ MVPs, selected by their coaches for outstanding play and leadership this season: Senior Grace Wilgucki and Junior James Geraghty.
The Varsity Girls’ Basketball team is coached by Tom Moriau (Ranney’s Director of Alumni Relations) and the Varsity Boys’ Basketball Team is coached by Drew Eldridge.

Both varsity teams won the Panther Classic in 2014 as well.
