The New Jersey State VEX Robotics Championship ended with two Ranney School teams opposing each other in the final round: Ranney’s B Team, led by Brandon Gioggia ’17 and Coleen Ross ’15 with Ava Papetti ‘15, took the title while Ranney’s D Team, led by Vasilios Nicholas ’16 with Andrew Denton ‘18, Jacob Guss ’18 and Jack Fink ‘16, came in as the second place tournament finalist. The event took place February 28, 2015, in Cherry Hill and involved 39 teams from across the garden state.

Two Ranney robots (Team B and Team A, which is led by Raymond Moser ’15, Amy Winkler ’15 and Chris Glenn ‘18) will now compete at the VEX World Championship, taking place April 15-18 in Kentucky. Team B qualified based on its State win and Team A qualified based on its State programming skills win. Ranney has competed at Worlds the past two years in a row, but previously with only one robot. In addition, the school will have six robots competing in the National VEX CREATE US OPEN Championship, taking place April 7-9 in Iowa.
