Forensics Students Dominate on Stage

Middle School students earned several top performance awards—including Best in Festival—at the spring 2015 Ranney Forensics Invitational.
On April 25, 2015, Ranney Middle School Forensics Team members joined students from Oak Hill Academy and Ocean Township Intermediate School on the RSPA Panther Hall and Roberts Stage to compete in two performance rounds. Categories included: Humorous Interpretation of Literature, Dramatic Interpretation of Literature, Storytelling and Dramatic/Humorous Scene Interpretation (Pairs).
Participating students, coached by Performing Arts and Middle School Faculy Members Mr. John Doyle, Mrs. Marie LaRocca and Mrs. Lillianne Torrent, included:

After preparing their monologues and interpretations throughout the winter, the 30-plus students at the meet each had their chance to present to a panel of distinguished judges who brought a wealth of performing arts and education experience to the table. Students could earn a maximum of 400 points as well as Outstanding, Distinguished or Commendable titles. Eighth-grader Sathya Edamadaka earned a total of 396 points, taking the “Best in Festival” title for Outstanding Storyteller. Below are the overall results.
