Upper School Announces Year-End Athletic Awards

The Upper School celebrated the end of the spring sports season as well as the 2014-15 athletic year on June 3, 2015. Coaches honored all of the team members participating in spring crew, golf, lacrosse, track and field, baseball, softball and tennis. Athletic Director Bobby Malone and Assistant Athletic Director Ian McNamara also issued the following year-end awards:
 
Headmaster Senior Award (presented to a male and female senior athlete for their outstanding contributions to the athletic department, on and off the field, during their years in the Upper School): Kristen Guyler and John Mejia
 
Athletic Director’s Award (presented to a male and female student in each of the four Upper School grades that best embody the attributes of a Ranney student-athlete: strong work ethic, positive attitude, loyalty and commitment):
from the class of 2015, Alexandra Natsis and Ryan Eaddy
from the class of 2016, Kate Crilly and Corey Natofsky
from the class of 2017, Shane Keenan and Taylor Gill
from the class of 2018, Abigail Boyan and Marc Greenstein
 
Panther Pride Dedication & Commitment Award (presented to one member of each of the four Upper School grades that best demonstrates the values of dedication and commitment):
from the class of 2015, Jeeda Ani
from the class of 2016, Natalie Lombardi
from the class of 2017, Greg Marx
from the class of 2018, Paul Jensen
 
Blue & White Leadership Award (presented to a senior athlete that has demonstrated leadership throughout his or her athletic career at Ranney School): Francesca Fischer
 
The Golden “R” Prize (presented to a male and a female team captain that best demonstrate the qualities of leadership): seniors Hailey Maher and Jacob Palecki. These two seniors were also given Ranney’s Scholar-Athlete Award during spring convocation and, in addition, Hailey won the 2015 NJSIAAS Scholar-Athlete Award.
 
Junior Coaches Cup Award (presented to a male and female athlete in the junior class that demonstrate sportsmanship, leadership, self-discipline and enthusiasm throughout his or her junior athletic year): Nelson Chan and Athena Dookie
 
Eugenie B. Edwards Spirit of Tennis Scholarship (This annual scholarship recognizes the graduating senior girl who exhibits the qualities of sportsmanship, team spirit and enthusiasm for the sport of tennis at Ranney School. It is presented in tribute to and in memory of Genie Edwards, Graduate of the class of 1988, who demonstrated these same qualities as a member and co-captain of the Girls’ Varsity Tennis Team): Kristen Guyler

Athlete of the Year (presented to one male and one female athlete that have excelled in at least two varsity sports during the school year): seniors Grace Wilgucki and James Geraghty
 
Seniors Kristen Guyler and Jacob Palecki were also recipients of this year’s Shore Conference “B Central” Division Sportsmanship Award. Congratulations to all student-athletes!
