Ranney School among top six Math Leagues in the country; five students attend national competition.
Five Ranney students traveled to Houston, Texas, over the weekend of June 6-7, 2015, to compete in the Math League Elementary National Championship: 4th grader Leanid Boika of Holmdel and 6th graders Jaren Nawy of Colts Neck, Morgan Rice of Fair Haven, Hubert Wang of Holmdel and Evan Woska of Marlboro.
Nearly 300 students from 91 schools were in attendance, representing 11 states (Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Texas and the Mariana Islands). To qualify for the national elementary championship, a student must attend the state championship and either place among the top 10 overall individuals in the student's grade level at state or be a member one of the top 5 overall teams at state.
