Varsity Cross Country Runners Rack up Personal Records

Shana Fitzmaurice grabs 2-mile champion spot for county.
Shana Fitzmaurice '19 is this year's freshman Monmouth County 2-mile champion.  Competing at Holmdel Park on October 20, Shana raced to a 13:38 finish in the 2 mile, lowering her Holmdel Park personal record by 20 seconds, while beating the second place runner by 23 seconds.
 
Mia Glass '19 and Kayode Oladeji '19 each finished 4th in the freshman girls' and boys' events respectively. Mia took 24 seconds off her Holmdel personal record, running the 2 miles in 14:27.  Kayode finished in 12:15, just 3 seconds shy of a personal record.
 
Chloe Walsh '19 had a Holmdel personal recordr of 16:24 as she finished 36th in the freshman girls field of 73 runners.  Jackson Croke '19 in 14:36 set a new Holmdel personal record, and Rohan Sharma '19 in 15:18, set a new personal record for the 2 mile, running in the freshmen boys' event.
 
Liam Fitzmaurice '17 set a new personal record as well in the Boys' Varsity 5K, running 18:51.  He was followed by Jon Kelly '16 at 21:07 and Dean Parker '16 at 21:47.
 
Laura Lehrfeld '18 finished the Junior Varsity Girls' 5K at 34:00, her fastest Holmdel time this season.

Update October 29
Shana sprinted her way into a 2nd-lace finish in the Prep B state meet at Blair Academy on October 28. Running a blistering personal record on 20:16 in the wind and rain, Shana is now among Ranney's top 3 girls of all time, joining alums Alex Salani '05 and Nora Fadil '09.

Mia snagged 15th place with a personal record of 21:37.2, followed by Chloe who was 43rd in a personal record of 24:07.2. Laura rounded out the foursome, finishing in 35:06.9.

Kayode and Liam both ran their way onto the Ranney all-time top 3 boys, alongside alum Jack Scilla '09. Kayode finished 14th in 18:05.9. Liam took 20th with a personal record of 18:16.5, followed by Dean in 33rd place at 20:01.6, his best effort this season.

Jackson Croke earned a personal record of 22:12.5, followed by Rohan Sharma '19 at 23:55.7. The boys' team finished 6th in the field of 7, only 2 points shy of 5th and 7 points shy of 4th place.

The team heads to the NJSIAA Non-Public B Group Championship at Holmdel Park on November 14!

In our Middle School Cross Country sport, Jane Mallach came in 2nd at the Meet of Champions in October! Congratulations to all Ranney runners!
