Discover World Languages Week Encompasses All Divisions

Mandarin, French and Spanish language students and faculty have arranged for week of celebratory and cultural activities.
The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages has designated February as Discover Languages Month and Ranney students—who begin learning Mandarin, French and Spanish starting in our Early Childhood Program—are celebrating with a variety of activities and exhibits.

To kick off the week, our first graders visited a local Asian Food Market, discovering different types of foods, packaging and preparations. Between February 8 and February 12, our students in all divisions have placed their language-inspired art throughout the campus academic buildings and libraries. Additionally, students have been making unique crafts and foods, such as Chinese lanterns and French Mardi Gras masks and crepes, and participating in cultural presentations, such as Spanish Flamenco dancing.
