Middle School Forensics Students Place 1st, 2nd & 3rd at 2016 Invitational

Middle School students earned high accolades at the annual Ranney-hosted Forensics Invitational on May 7, 2016. Annabella Andiorio '21, John Leventhal '21 and Rishi Sondhi '22, supported by their Ranney coaches John Doyle, Dana Cain, Lilly Torrente, took to the Ranney stage to compete.
 
Participating students came from three area schools—Oak Hill Academy, Ocean Township Intermediate School and Ranney—for two adjudicated performance rounds in the following forensics categories: Humorous Interpretation of Literature, Storytelling and Dramatic/Humorous Scene Interpretation (Pairs).
 
In front of a panel of distinguished judges who brought a wealth of performing arts and education experience to the table, 27 students were rated as Outstanding (95+%), Distinguished (85-94%) or Commendable (<85%) and ranked throughout the morning. 
 
  • John Leventhal received a Distinguished rating and placed 1st in Grade 7 Storytelling
  • Annabella Andiorio received a Distinguished rating and placed 2nd in Grade 7 Humorous Interpretation of Literature
  • Rishi Sondhi received a Distinguished rating and placed 3rd in Grade 6 Humorous Interpretation of Literature
 
The overall "Best in Festival" went to Emily Case, a student from Ocean Township Intermediate School, who competed in the Grade 6 Humorous Interpretation of Literature and received an Outstanding rating.
 
John, Annabella and Rishi are working toward the National Junior Forensics League Honor Society.
