Crilly, Fitzmaurices Compete at Non-Public Group Champs

The track season continues for Shana Fitzmaurice '19, who qualified for the NJSIAA Meet of Champions with a 5th place finish in the 1600 at the Non-Public Group Championships at Northern Burlington on June 3.  Shana's time of 5:21.09 sheared 5 seconds off her school record in the event.
 
Shana is Ranney's 6th qualifier for the MOC in the 8 years Ranney has been eligible to compete. The first Panther distance runner to make the meet, she is also the first to reach both the Cross Country MOC and the Track and Field MOC, all in her freshman year.
 
Liam Fitzmaurice '17 just missed the top 10 in the boys 1600, with a 4:37.97, to lower his school record in the event.
 
On Day 2 of the Group Championship, Shana finished the 800 in 11th place in 2:29.76, just  .13 off her best mark.  
 
Kate Crilly '16 finished a storied career in track and field on day 2 of the championship.  A runner/jumper since middle school, Kate has run the 400 hurdles, 100 hurdles, 100, 200, relays, triple jump and long jump for the Panthers, qualifying for the group meet in one or two events each year of her varsity career, and reaching the Meet of Champions as a junior in the 400 hurdles.  Kate reached the finals of the long jump competition, finishing 8th.
 
The Meet of Champions will be held Jne 8, at Central Regional High School.
