Ranney Sailors Win A & B Divisions in First Regatta

Reprinted in part from NJISA (Sept. 14, 2016, Toms River)*
Ten NJ high schools, making up 14 teams, started the NJISA Wednesday afternoon series off at Toms River Yacht Club under beautiful sunny skies, seasonably warm temps and a nice 10 mph SE breeze.  Six W4 races, three in each division, were completed before the wind tapered off intermittent puffs less than 4 mph and the fleet was sent in. (Interestedly, an hour an half later is was blowing 20+ mph in the bay).

Congratulations to the Ranney Panthers who came out on top with total of 12 points winning both A and B Divisions. The Red Bank Regional Bucs ended the afternoon in second with 24 points and the Christian Brothers Academy Colts in third with 28 points.

The fleet was relatively tightly packed in both divisions and it was great to see the RBR Bucs make their presence know, as well as a growing Central Regional Eagles team and newcomers TR East Raiders.
