Choral Singers Represent Ranney in All State and All Shore Choirs

Senior Evan Schultz will be representing Ranney School as a Soprano 2 at the New Jersey All State Mixed Chorus concerts taking place November 11 at 8:30 p.m. in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, and November 15 at 3 p.m. at NJPAC. Evan has been preparing for these performances with students from around the state since this past June.  This is Evan's second year as a member of the All State Chorus.

On November 16, Ranney chorus members will audition for the Monmouth All Shore Chorus. Best of luck to  Jocelyn Lin '20 (Alto 1), Ava Jacoby '19 (Soprano 1), Evan Schultz '17 (Soprano 2), Jack Wingertzahn '18 (Alto 2), and Jiayi Yang '20 (Alto 1). They have been  working since September to perfect scales, hone sight skills, and learn a  Bach Motet both in and outside of the US Choral classroom.

Update Nov. 17:
Three Ranney Upper School students have been accepted into the 2017 New Jersey All-Shore Honors Chorus: Senior Evan Scultz, Junior Jack Wingertzahn, and Sophomore Ava Jacoby! Freshmen and international students Jiayi (Julianna) Yang and Yihong (Jocelyn) Lin also had the honorable opportunity to audition.

These students will take their places among the 114 top vocalists from Monmouth and Ocean County area high schools when rehearsals begin in January. A concert is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at Red Bank Regional High School. Notes Ranney Choir Director Lillianne Torrente, “Please join me in commending these students for auditioning and representing our school at this annual event!”

2017 will mark the fourth year that Evan has earned a spot in the NJ All Shore Honors Chorus. She is also a second year member of the All State Chorus.
