Myers Places 2nd at Carnegie Hall's International Crescendo Competition
Sophomore Audrey Myers of Fair Haven and sixth-grader Grace Nivera of Holmdel competed in the Crescendo International Competition at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall on Jan. 15, 2017. Playing A. Scriabin’s Etude Op. 2, No. 1 on piano, Audrey won 2nd Place for her performance, among 40 talented young musicians from across Germany, Mongolia, China, Austria, Argentina, Korea, Canada, Russia, Singapore, Japan, Israel, Turkey, and the United States. Grace, who can often be found accompanying Ranney School's chorus or playing with the orchestra, performed the Chopin Waltz in A minor.
Congratulations to both young pianists!
