Winter Track Slices Shore Conf & Frosh-Novice Champs

It was a busy and fruitful week for the Ranney Winter Track Team. Running the 800 at the Shore Conference Championships on January 28, Olivia Metzger '20 sliced more than 4 seconds off the school indoor record to finish in 2:34.02. Olivia, who also holds the school indoor record in the 1600, finished in 24th place.
 
At the boys' Frosh-Novice Championships on January 24, personal records also went flying. Matthew Wrigley '20, ran the 55 in 7.71, to finish 24th in a field of 79 freshmen. Matthew also ran his first 200 dash, finishing in 27th place in 27.94.  Charlie Fabricant '17, had a personal best in the 55 in 7.53, and tossed the shot put 30'4". Ethan Brandon '19 ran both the 55 and 200 for the first time, finishing in 7.94 and 29.03.
 
Kayla Conley '18 ran a personal best in the 55 at the girls' Frosh-Novice Championships in 10.03. Olivia Knoop '20 ran the 1600 in 7:40.
 
Next up is the Monmouth County Frosh-Novice, taking place February 1, and the Prep States on February 4.
