Sophomore Zhenglun “Alan” Li has received the highest Ranney student score in the 2017 American Mathematics Competition (AMC). Sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America, the high school level AMC is a 25-question, 75-minute, multiple choice test given to high school math students across the country to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.
Ninety-four Ranney students in all took the exam, competing at the 10th and 12th grade levels. Alan was one of 30 sophomores to take the test.
Math Department Chair Laura Pongrac will present Alan with an award at the next Upper School Town Hall.
