In her junior year, she reached a total of 67 goals, along with 25 assists. “With one year to go in her Ranney soccer career, it’s safe to say the scoring record will be safe for quite a while!” said Athletic Director Bobby Malone. “She quadrupled her number of assists from last year to this year, displaying her skills to include her teammates and be a well-rounded player.” Abby is also a member of the Varsity Girls’ Swim and Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse teams.
Sophomore Bryan Antoine, who received the Male Athlete of the Year Award, became the fastest player and first sophomore in Shore Conference History to score 1,000 points in their basketball career. “At his current pace, he will become one of only a handful of players in state history to score 2,000 points in a career!” noted Mr. Malone. Bryan’s stat line this year included 533 points (57 of which were 3-pointers) and 66 assists, as well as 89 defensive steals.
In addition to these school awards, the Shore Sports Network, in partnership with the Shore Conference, honors a male and female from each school year. Ranney’s representatives are seniors Charles Fabricant (Varsity Lacrosse) and Taylor Gill (Varsity Swim), who will receive their Sportsmanship Awards on May 21 at the Toms River Pine Belt Arena. And last but not least, Senior Liam Fitzmaurice (Varsity Track) will be awarded an NJSIAA Scholar Athlete Award/Scholarship on May 21 as well, at the Pine Manor in Edison.
