MS Musical Moves to the Fall

After careful consideration by the school leadership, Ranney Middle School has decided to shift the timing of its annual musical so that it falls earlier in the school year. This year, our Performing Arts Department and students will present "Once Upon a Mattress" on November 9, 10, and 11. The audition process will begin during the second week of school in September. 

"This change allows us to utilize the talents, experience and expertise of our own Performing Arts instructors as music, drama, and stage directors, eliminating the need to look outside of our community to fill these crucial positions," explained Middle School Head David Ketcham. "Another benefit of this change is that it keeps the performance dates away from the semester transition, which can be a busy academic time."

“Once Upon a Mattress” will provide a challenging, yet age-appropriate artistic opportunity for our students, who will surely embrace the opportunity. "I have great admiration for our students who step on our stage, and I cannot wait for this year's performance!" added Mr. Ketcham.
