Ranney Sailing Team Places Third In The Mid-Atlantic Coast Championship, Gaining Berth to Atlantic Coast Championship

On Oct. 21- 22, Ranney competed against the top 18 high school sailing teams from the Mid-Atlantic region.  Teams came from New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland to Rochester, New York to compete for the chance to advance to the Atlantic Coast Championship.

Despite the fact that the weather conditions were less than optimal, with very light and shifty winds, the Ranney team finished third.  The Panthers’ third place finish qualifies them to compete against the top high school teams along the Atlantic Coast at Kings Point, New York on November 11-12.

The Ranney team that competed in Rochester was comprised of Luke Arnone, Blake Epstein, Cameron Giblin, Matthew Hamelsky, William Beyer and Brook Schmelz. The team is coached by Clay Johnson.
