Ranney Sailors Win NJISA 2018 Spring Fleet Championship

The Ranney Panthers captured the NJISA 2018 Spring Fleet Championship, earning a berth in the MASSA Mallory Qualifier.  There are two qualifying events en route to the High School National Championship Regatta; on March 24, the Panthers won the first qualifying event.

Twelve NJISA high school teams battled for the right to move on to the second qualifying event, but the Panthers came out on top in what can best be described as “puffy shifty” conditions.  With winds coming and going all day Ranney led from the beginning and never looked back.

They will head to Christ Church Virginia on April 14 -15, looking to once again qualify for the National Championship Regatta.   Ranney sailors Luke Arnone, Blake Epstein, Cameron Giblin, Matthew Hamelsky, Catherine Vucetic, William Beyer, Brooke Schmelz, and Hubert Wang all contributed to the win. The Panthers are coached by Clay Johnson.
