Jatin Nayyar Helps to Organize Virtual Walk Benefiting NJCTS

Jatin Nayyar, class of '20, is a very involved sophomore at Ranney School who has also helped to organize a virtual walk fundraiser.

"I want to make a difference," said Jatin. "I play tennis, soccer, basketball and I also have Tourettes Syndrome (TS). I try not to let Tourettes define me. TS is a neurological disease that affects 1/100 individuals. I was in the fourth grade when I was diagnosed."

"When I am not playing sports or studying, I am a member of the Diversity Club and the Tri-M Music Honor Society," said Jatin. "However, one of my most valued roles is serving on the Youth Committee for the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome (NJCTS). This spring, we have organized a virtual walk where all donations go directly the NJCTS. A virtual walk means that you can donate the entire month of April by simply linking to my webpage. The NJCTS has been invaluable in my life. Most importantly, it taught me that I was not alone. I was able to connect with other kids with TS, learn about programs, services, education, training and research. This gift is something I want to share with others. My goal is to reach $1,000 - any donation will make a difference in helping kids and teens in their daily struggles with TS."
