Ranney School Teams Notch Impressive Performances at History Bowl and Bee

Ranney School varsity and junior varsity teams competed in the National History Bowl and Bee, held from April 27-29 in Washington, D.C. The JV team won the Lower Bracket Championship, and the Varsity team (with only two members, Varun Sikand ’18 and Jacob Egol ’19) missed advancing to the playoffs by only one point.

Individual team members notched impressive performances as well. Varun Sikand was a Semifinalist in the US History Bee; Jacob Egol was a Semifinalist in the International Geography Bee; Seth Marx ’20 was a Finalist in the Sports and Entertainment Bee; and novice Olivia Knoop ’20 scored 2nd place in the Open Bee. Other students who contributed to the teams’ success were Emily Chang ’20, Anthony Virone ’20, and Jatin Nayyar ’20.
