Student Athlete Spotlight: Harry Herman

When did you start at Ranney School?
I started at Ranney in the 7th grade.
When did you start your tennis career?
I started playing tennis probably around the age of 6 or 7.
What was it like at a Tennis Academy?
It was difficult and forced me to grow as a person. There was a lot of competition and a constant high-pressure environment. It was also very rewarding because of the incredible friendships I made.
What are your goals as a tennis player?
My goal is just to work as hard as I can every day and compete at my potential.
What are your goals for Ranney Tennis this season and next season?
My goal this season was to go undefeated in conference play. Next season I want to have better results in the county and state tournaments.
What is your favorite class at Ranney?  Who is your favorite teacher?
My favorite class is physics with Mr. Neil.
What professional tennis player do you admire most?  Why?
Rafael Nadal is my favorite tennis player. I admire his work ethic and persistence.
Fun Facts: Favorite Food? Least Favorite Food?  
My favorite foods are oysters and ice cream. My least favorite food is carrots.
Tell us something we don’t know about you: 
I love Frank Sinatra and The Eagles.
What are you most looking forward to this Summer?
This summer I’m looking forward to playing a doubles tournament with my dad and spending time with my friends at the beach.
