Ranney Sailing Team Wins MASSA Fall Fleet Championship Regatta
Despite the winds and at times driving rain, the Ranney School sailing team won both the A and B divisions of the MASSA Fall Fleet Championship Regatta, earning them the top spot. The Panthers’ victory was an incredible triumph over some of the best high school sailing teams in the country. Eighteen Teams from the Mid-Atlantic States of New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia sailed in winds from 10-12mph gusting at times to 20mph.
The team has now qualified for the Atlantic Coast Championships in both fleet and team racing. This weekend the teams Captains, Luke Arnone and Cameron Giblin, head to Michigan to compete in the Cressy High School Singlehanded Championships.
Congratulations to Coach Clay Johnson and Ranney sailors Luke Arnone, Blake Epstein, Cameron Giblin, Matthew Hamelsky, William Beyer, John Cocozza and Brooke Schmelz.
