Boys' Golf Wins First-Ever Shore Conference Championship
Ranney School’s varsity boys’ golf team won the Shore Conference Championship at Charleston Spring Golf Course in Millstone Township on April 24, the first golf title in school history. The Panthers finished with a 305, two strokes ahead of defending champion Wall. John Welch ’24 finished 1 under par with a 71 and won the tournament on the first playoff hole versus Monmouth County Champion Jack Aiello. Congratulations to the team: Welch, Sam Landers ‘26, Chris Hannan ‘25, Noah Weiss ‘24, Gavin Karlin ‘26, and Sal Principato ‘24.
“This team never hangs their heads, never makes excuses, they just make improvements and keep fighting” said Head Coach Mike Butler. “And that is why they are Champs.”
"I'm so happy for John Welch," said Coach Butler. "He epitomized that mantra today, starting the day 4 over par after 5 holes, only to finish 5 under par on his last 13 holes, and winning the tournament on the first playoff hole."
