Speech and Debate Team Earns Accolades

Speech and Debate are raking in the recognition after four tournaments this season, the latest of which was the Ridge Invitational on Saturday, January 24.

One of the largest competitions in the region, Ridge hosted 54 schools from the East Coast with over 800 competitors. 

Congratulations to Avi Rao '27 who earned 4th Place Overall in Informational Speaking, William Mallach '26, who earned 5th Place Overall in Humorous Interpretation, and Elina Dayel '29, who earned an Honorable Mention in Lincoln Douglas Debate.

At Freehold Township, on January 17, Rao took home First Place in Informational Speaking and Mallach earned third place in Humorous Interpretation.

Rao will be competing at Montville on February 21, and the full team will compete in their final regular season tournament at Bridgewater on February 28.
