Ranney Speech and Debate Has Impressive Performances

On Saturday, all eight Ranney School Speech and Debate team members who attended the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Invitational made it to Finals. Fifth place winners included Sherry Wang '28 and Elina Dayel '29 for Novice Public Forum Debate, as well as co-captain William Mallach '26 for Improvisational Acting.

Elijah Anderson '28 and Jack Hibell '28 earned 4th place in Novice Parliamentary Debate. Kevin Fallon '27 and Oliver Olson '27 took an impressive Second Place in JV Public Forum.

Co-captain Avi Rao '27 earned first place in the Informative Speech category.  All competitors earned spots in the end-of-season State Tournament.
 
On Sunday, another co-captain of the Speech and Debate team, O'Hara Kane-Assatly '26 represented Ranney School at the Princeton English Speaking Union's Shakespeare recitation contest.
 
"I am so proud of our performers and debaters!" said Speech Coach Ms. Leslie Patient.
