US Speech and Debate Competes Virtually

Congratulations to our Speech and Debate team for competing in its third tournament. The virtual tournament, hosted by Freehold Township, marked the largest group of Ranney competitors this year, with 18 students competing in three different categories: Public Forum, Congress, and Speech.

Brielle Polizzano '22 is the first Ranney student to "break" in Speech in six years, earning a spot in the Finals Round of Improvisational Theatre.

First-time competitors, Junran Zhao '24 and Lindsay Berliner '24 earned two wins in their Novice Public Forum Debate rounds.

Other highlights of the tournament include single round wins for Varsity Public Forum teams Brielle Natenzon '21/Anabelle Brodsky '21 and Jared Gizersky '24/Emily Gizersky '22 (capt.).

Congressional Debater Todd Rado '22 earned first-place ranking from one of the judges in his first round, but also had legislation he wrote included in the Congressional docket.

Ranney's Speech and Debate team competes virtually again this Saturday (1/30) in a tournament hosted by Ridge High School.
