Lindsay Berliner ’24 Follows her Passions this Summer

This summer, Lindsay Berliner ’24 is participating in the Paper Mill Playhouse’s Summer Musical Conservatory Program as well as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s biannual Children’s Congress.

The Paper Mill Playhouse's Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory Program is a highly-selective program that only accepts 120 New Jersey performers, putting them with notable program alumni such as Academy-Award Winner Anne Hathaway, Tony-Award Winner Laura Bennanti, and many others.

The five-week rigorous summer program culminates with The New Voices Concert held on the Tony-Award Winning Paper Mill stage for three performances. The theme of this year's concert is We Will Rock You: Celebrating the Sounds That Revolutionized the Broadway Musical, and performances will be held on Friday, July 28th at 7:30pm and Saturday, July 29th at 1:30pm and 7:30pm.

At the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's biannual Children's Congress, Type 1 Diabetics from around the nation (and even abroad) travel to Washington D.C. to advocate for more funding, insulin affordability, and spread awareness of T1D directly to the congressmen and women in power directly on Capitol Hill.

“I am honored to be one of New Jersey's five delegates attending Children's Congress this July, and to actively create positive change for those like me living with Type 1 Diabetes,” said Lindsay.  Learn more about Lindsay’s decade-long journey as a Type 1 Diabetic.

“Advocating for Type 1 Diabetes and doing theatre have always been passions of mine, and having both the Paper Mill Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory Program and JDRF's Children's Congress both accept me after almost a decade of applying for them at the same time truly is a dream come true! I cannot wait to make the most of these truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and see where they may lead to next!”
