Ranney School’s volunteers received some well-deserved recognition at the Annual Volunteer Celebration Breakfast Monday, April 27 in RSPA Panther Hall. More than 40 volunteers dined on a full course breakfast as they listened to music performed by the Upper School Tri M honors students. The annual event is the school’s way of saying “thank you” to the many parent and grandparents who volunteer their time and talent each year, whether in the classroom or library, at an event or out on the playing field. Members of the Board of Trustees and the administration were on hand to offer words of thanks. Head of School Dr. Lawrence S. Sykoff praised outgoing Ranney School Parents’ Association (RSPA) President Michele Karagianakis for two years of faithful service to the school and unveiled the new Parents’ Association banner to hang inside RSPA Panther Hall.

The Parents’ Association has a busy month planned for May, beginning with their annual “Swing into Spring” brunch and lecture series this Thursday, April 30, at 8:45 a.m. in RSPA Panther Hall. There is no fee for the breakfast. Nancy Malone, a florist with Sickles Market in Little Silver, will demonstrate how to assemble two types of floral arrangements as well as tips on selecting flowers, just in time for the RSPA annual garden sale. Hundreds of blooming hanging baskets, flowering and vegetable plants and patio pots will be available for purchase Wednesday, May 6th, through Friday, May 8th, on the first floor of the Commons. All money raised will benefit the Parents’ Association.

Later in the month, RSPA will sponsor a special spring book sale, Monday, May 18, through Wednesday, May 20, in the RSPA Panther Hall Gallery and in the Middle and Upper School Foyer. Books included on the summer reading lists, as well as foreign language and travel books will be available for sale. All proceeds will benefit the Searle and Paulus libraries.

For questions about these or other Parents’ Association events, please contact RSPA at RSPA@ranneyschool.org.
