Ranney Teacher Wins Basie Award

Congratulations to Kevin Cotter, Performing Arts faculty member, on winning the Basie Award in "Outstanding Lighting Design in a Drama”, for the Ranney production of "You Can't Take it With You." The Count Basie Theater Awards honors excellence in Monmouth County High School Theater.
The 2009 Count Basie Theater Awards were presented on Wednesday, May 20, at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank. Hosted by actress Siobhan Fallon Hogan, and produced by theater educators Yvonne Lamb Scudiery and Mike Jacoby, the event recognized the theater productions of 18 participating Monmouth County high schools. The purpose of the awards is to foster participation in and an appreciation of the arts in Monmouth County schools, and to acknowledge the preparation and hard work of students, teachers and parents county-wide for their devotion to musical and dramatic productions.
