On September 10, the Ranney School Parents’ Association kicked-off what is expected to be a very eventful school year by hosting its annual Welcome Back Coffee and General Meeting for parents in RSPA Panther Hall. Over coffee and bagels, parents took the opportunity to mingle, introduce themselves to new parents, meet the new RSPA Executive Board and talk up a full calendar of activities and events planned for 2009-2010, including Ranney’s upcoming 50th Anniversary celebrations.

The RSPA’s new president Susan Grosso welcomed guests and encouraged parent participation in wide range of parent and family events, including the parent-led Panther Cubs sports program for Lower School children and the upcoming Fall Festival. She explained how the funds raised each year by RSPA volunteers help support academic, athletic and arts programs in all three divisions as well as professional development opportunities for the Ranney faculty. Dr. Lawrence Sykoff, Head of School, also took the opportunity to welcome parents and thank both the RSPA Executive Board and volunteers for their continuing commitment to the school and support of its mission of academic excellence.
