The magazine, which is published three times a year and showcases original student writing and art, was recognized by two leading scholastic press associations.
According to Faculty Advisor Joan Fernandez, RSVP captured a Gold Medal from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. The Association has awarded prizes for the best student newspapers and magazines since 1925 and is owned by Columbia University and affiliated with its Graduate School of Journalism.
RSVP also took home a “1st Place with Special Merit” award from the American Scholastic Press Association’s annual contest of scholastic yearbooks, magazines and newspapers. RSVP was cited for its special and outstanding design and content. Along with other school publication winners, it will be listed in The American Scholastic Journalist, an awards booklet, to be published in late December.
